In this time of constant bad economic news more and more people are seeking out ways to make extra income online.  If you have been one of the many who has recently lost their job or been laid off don’t feel bad your not alone.  I spent the holiday’s with many family and friends that are in the same situation.  I was quite surprised to hear that many of them had decided to look into making extra income online through various means.  Unfortunately several had already started buying into many of the scam money making programs that are out there.  This is probably not the first time you’ve heard this but it is definitely worth repeating, If a website promises you the opportunity to make quick money or income and it sounds too good to be true chances are it is.  Regardless of this fact many of these out of work people are desperate to bring in much needed cash to the household budget and fall right into the hands of the scam artist.   Before I get into the various different ways to make extra income online let me start by saying that you can get started without spending a dime. 

There are several ways to get started making money online and here is a list of the most popular.

1. Ebay-  Everyone by now I’m sure has heard of or knows someone that has either sold or purchased something from ebay.  Ebay is probably one of the quickest ways to start making extra cash immediately through selling stuff you have laying around the house collecting dust.  Trust me just because you dont have a use for doesn’t mean someone wont spend money for it on ebay.

2. Affiliate Programs -  Affiliate programs are one of the most profitable ways to make extra income online using your own websites.  I for one have chosen this as my option to create extra income.  When working with or deciding upon an affiliate program I would suggest you start out with the best of the best to begin with.  In my opinion the top three affilaite programs that will make you more money are: Google’s AdSense, Ebay’s affiliate network and clickbank products.  I’ll get into each of these types of affiliate programs and how you can make extra income with them in later posts.

3. Turn your hobby into a business.  It never ceases to amaze me how many people make things as a hobby and have never considered selling them online.  Many of today’s million dollar companies started out as hobbies.  Just look at Vera Bradley, Mary Frances, and Coach.  All of these companies started out as hobbies for the founders before they realized the potential to make moeny with them.  Do you have a hobby you could use as ways to make money?  Woodcrafts, making candles and soaps, creating fishing lures, designing jewelry are all hobbies that have turned into huge online business. 

There are of course many other ways to make money online besides the ones I’ve mentioned about but I would say that just about anyone could utilize these three extra income ideas to get the old brainstormer working.  The hardest part about learning how to make a living from home is getting started.  Doing nothing is the worst thing you can do. If you have a desire to start pulling in some extra dough I suggest you put a plan into action and learn how to make extra income online.
