Making Extra Income On Ebay Got Easier

If your looking to make extra income, eBay just made it a bit easier. They announced that starting in June they would allow 5 free listings per month instead of charging the usual listing fees. Now for those that are casual ebay sellers this is both good and bad. Under the new options you will no longer have to worry about losing money if an item doesnt sell since there wont be an upfront list fee, however you wont’ make more money if the item sells as they have increased the commisions. Here’s an example comparing the two different senarios for a person that only makes extra income from ebay on a limited basis. EX: if you sold a pair of football tickets for $300, you would owe eBay $20 under the new fee structure. Under the current system, you would pay up to $3 to list the tickets and $11.82 as a final value fee, for a total of less than $15. So you can see there is definately a give and take here. Since the bulk of people that make extra income on ebay are basically using it as an online garage sale and only list a few items a month this is sure to bring in more profits for ebay in the long run.

This is also a big plus for people like me that are ebay affiliates and make income from referal sales generated through their online auction. Using the above example my commisions would be based on the $20.00 figure instead of $14.82. Now many of you might not thing that is a big deal but for those concerned with the declining value ebay pays affiliates for ACRU this will go a long way in increasing your income on the overall commisions on purchase you can potentially make. Having watched my extra income from ebay ACRU’s slowly decline over the last several months this is just the jolt I need to keep me interested in producing more niche sites geared towards the ebay affiliate program. Those that are interested in making money online using ebay here is the softare I use for most of my ebay niche stores

How To Make More Money With Your Site

In this time of financial stress you need to be earning as much income from your business as possible. Most large companies have a team of people to help them optimize their websites to allow them to earn extra income but small mom and pop stores often don’t have the resources, money or know how to take their current website and utilize it to make more money by increasing their customer base. I’ve decided to do a quick case study on a local remodeling business I heard about from a friend. Now most construction businesses will make most of their income from referral business, word of mouth and localized advertising but is it possible they could earn extra income now just by tweaking their web presence just a bit.

For this study on how to make more money from your existing website I’ll be focusing on an eco-friendly green certified Fort Wayne commercial contractor. First look at this businesses website is quite impressive and it has all the essential elements I would expect to see on a site wanting to drive additional sales and earn extra income with their web presence. From reading the site you can see their past work, learn about their experience and can easily find their contact information. Given that the basic information on their site is all there we will focus on how to tweak the site to help them generate more customers and create extra income now.

The first thing I did was to see where exactly they could be found in a Google search.
I didn’t do much research on the specific keywords but used a few that came to mind quickly. Here is the results of my search and where this business’s website ranked for what I expect are terms customers would use that are looking for a remodeling company in their area. For this study I will be utilizing primarily SeoElite website optimiztion software.

As you can see the business doesn’t rank well in a Google search for very many keywords related to their company. How can you expect to make more money by having a website if you don’t focus your efforts on getting ranked as high as possible in the search engines. The only keyword that they ranked for on page one were completely due to the fact that the terms were in their url. If this company wanted to start utilizing its web presence to its fullest it would focus on doing some serious link building for keyword that customers would use to find their site. That combined with a little bit of onsite SEO and they could easily move up the search rankings which will help them generate more leads and create more income.  Now dont get me wrong I’m not bashing this company or its website in any means. They actually happen to be someone I know and I’m trying to help them make more money by driving customers to their page.  After all they spent a lot of money making a beautiful website now they should do everything possible to gain the most benefit from it.  If you have a small business and are wondering why your not making more money since you have a web presence then you might consider doing some research into search engine optimization.
